The key elements of the project included:
1. Route optimization – analysis of terms, costs and risks to choose the best delivery option.
2. Preparation and execution of export documents – obtaining permission from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation under restrictions, including re-approval due to delayed payment for goods by the customer.
3. Packing and securing cargo – development of placement schemes in ten 40-foot open-top containers with protruding parts, manufacture of special awnings to protect against precipitation. 4. Loading quality control – a preliminary inspection to check the packaging and fastening before shipment. Loading into containers is under the supervision of company employees. 5. Multimodal transportation – automobile delivery to the port of St. Petersburg, customs inspection and sea transportation to the UAE.
The project was accompanied by non-standard challenges, such as:;
1. Re-approval of the export permit due to the delay in payment of the contract. The matter was complicated by the fact that until the last moment, no one was clear on what conditions the permit would be issued and whether additional documents would be required and, if necessary, which ones and at what time.
2. Detailed study of packaging and fastening of oversized elements. This stage was especially emotional and the most time-consuming, because the sender was not very contractual and tried in every way to minimize his costs both in terms of resources and the cost of work.
3. The coordination of strictly verified areas of responsibility between the supplier and the customer, which required additional lengthy negotiations, the elaboration of several detailed options and the search for the only one that would suit everyone.
4. Overcoming the biased attitude of foreign banks towards making payments when exporting a Russian supplier from the seaport of the Russian Federation.
As a result, thanks to the professionalism of the team and a comprehensive approach, the delivery was completed on time, and the equipment was delivered safely. This project has proven our ability to solve even the most complex logistical challenges under constraints.
